Many months of teasers and spy photos have finally led to the full release of Jaguar's all new 2010 XJ, our flagship sedan.  The XJ's bold styling is much more modern then its predecessor, many influences and cues are from the new design style as seen in the XF lineup.

The bold front end is where the styling cues are most noticeable compared to the XF, although the grille is pushed out further than the XF's.  Looking at the XJ from the side profile reveals a completely different aero stance once the c-pillar lines begin. Approaching the XJ from the rear will reveal dramatic styling and distinctive design all the way from the upswept tail lamps to the steeply angled rear windshield that almost gives the car a coupe-like appearance. 

The interior is once again providing you with a dramatic change from the predecessor, with a more modern approach to design while still maintaining the richness the XJ is known for.  Surrounding you with ample amounts of real hand polished wood and supple leather, this richness is augmented with some high tech curb appeal such as the full LCD instrumentation via a 12.3" panel complemented by a 8" LCD touch screen, 1200watt Bowers and Wilkins stereo, panoramic glass roof and JaguarDrive (rotary gear selector).  These and many other unique features will have the typical MB S'type and BMW 7 series owners wondering why their car doesn't have the same toys as the XJ.  This modern yet classic design is sure to not only appeal to the current XJ owners but also attract a more youthful clientele and even the odd star, as many of the true vehicle aficionado's in Hollywood attended the launch, Elle McPherson and Jay Leno to name a few. 

The 2010 XJ will be offered in three distinct flavours:
Mild: The base XJ will be powered by a 385 horsepower 5.0L V8       
Medium: The Supercharged model provides 470 horsepower with the same 5.0L V8
Hot: The special order Supersport model sits at the top of the list for the XJ lineup, powered by a 510 horsepower version of the 5.0L V8

The XJ's aluminum construction allows it to shed some pounds (300lbs lighter than the competition) and promises lightning fast acceleration.  The base model moves you from 0-100kmph in only 5.4 seconds.  The supercharged model bests that and runs the 0-100kmph sprint in 4.9 seconds.  For the pure enthusiast the Supersport model puts you in super car territory with a rocket from 0-100kmph in 4.7 seconds! This will leave the sports car owners gnashing their teeth and slamming gears just trying to keep up while you sprint past them checking to make sure the creases are straight in your Italian suit...
